　　一伙恐怖分子袭击体育场，而拯救的任务却落到一个在现场的退役军人身上。

　　美军为了消灭德军将领，莱斯明少校奉命挑选十二位犯了军法的重刑犯来执行任务，但他们一个个叛逆不羁，莱斯明的死对头布立德上校偏偏看他们不顺眼，明后在双方对决里莱斯明的囚犯以寡散众打败了布立德的大军，也保住了这次任务。但最后虽然他们成功地完成目标，歼灭了敌人将领，但他们却死伤惨重……

　　中东情势吃紧，美国国防使出秘密武器，派遣一支无坚不摧的海陆空三枝特遣队前往支援，在执行任务过程中，特遣队发现一种致命的导弹落在一群恐怖分子手中，为了阻止恐怖分子使用导弹杀害无辜百姓，这群受过严格训练的英勇特遣队成员，无畏生命危险，要从他们手中夺回导弹。

这部动画片根据卡里·纪伯伦的同名作品改编，每一部分由不同导演执导，其中包括《狮子王》导演罗杰·阿勒斯和《海洋之歌》导演汤姆·摩尔，声优云集连姆·尼森、塞尔玛·海耶克、奎文赞妮·瓦利斯等。
