HavingwitnessedhisjunkiefatherkilledRussellStevensgrowsuptobecomeapolicemanandmakeadifference.WhenheisofferedanundercoverjobbyGeraldCarverheacceptsandbeginstobuildarelationshipwithDavidJasoninordertogettothemaindealers.Howeverasheisforcedtodealdrugsandkilltokeephiscoverhefindsthelinesbetweencopandcriminalbeinglost–isheacoppretendingtobeadealeroradealerpretendingtobeacop?Larry(ashewasthen)Fishburne'sfirstleadrolewasatypicallydarkvehicle.Thestoryistheusualoneofcoplosinghimselfwhenundercover,howeveritmanagestobemorethanthatformostofthetime.Co-writtenbyTolkin,whowroteThePlayer,thisnaturallyhasanicecynicaledgetoitwhenitlooksattheUS'shypocriticalapproachtodrugcontrolandthepoliticallinksbetweenthestreethustlersandthepoliticalhighrollerswhocourtrespectability.Thestorydoeseventuallysettleintoatraditionalsettingbuteventhenitworkswellasathriller.Themulti-talentedBillDukedirectswellwithagrittyfeelandafewnicetouches.Howeverseveralthingsareabitiffy.FormostofthefilmFishburne'snarration/voiceoverisabitlikeacrossbetweenApocalypseNowandBladeRunner–itcomesacrossasalittletoodarkandheavyandalsoexplainsthingslikewecan'tfigureitoutourselves.Howeveronceyougetintothefilmit'snotasbigadeal.Mymainproblemlieswiththecharacters.Fishburneisexcellent,arealmodelofunderlyingangerandviolence,GoldblumisgoodbutperhapsalittleOTTontheyuppie/violencething,butthere'sgoodsupportfromSmithandSpinCity'sbeautiful(andoftenunderused–butnothere)VictoriaDillard.Howeverthetwomainwhitecharacters(GoldblumandSmith)arebothsmearedwithracistinsinuations–Smithappearstoinsulthisblackofficersanddoesn'tcareaboutthejunkies,whileGoldblumisfascinatedaboutallthingsblackandtalksaboutthemaswildbeautifulbeastsandloveshavingsexwith"black'.Thesethingsaren'tamajorproblem,butwithbasicallyonlytwowhitecharactersinit,it'salittleworryingthatbotharegiventhatedge.Howevertheseareminorcomplaintsthatgetlostwithagoodthriller.FishburneexcelsandDukedeliversastorythatisagoodthrillerbutalsohasajaded,subversiveedge.

　　乾坤始元年间，济西古国继承人——芊叶自幼便被秘密送往云虚门修炼鲛珠，为继承皇位做准备。摄政王明熙因贪恋权位，不甘心臣服于女皇统治，利用法术唤醒了曾经的魔王羽皇，合谋发动政变杀害了女皇，并决定铲除女皇继承人芊叶。云虚门因此遭到灭门打击，芊叶携带云虚门神器“达摩剑”逃亡，被民间有牧人血统的逍遥少年长笙所救。

石金水（周星驰饰）与吴带娣（吴君如饰）同在乡下长大，二人青梅竹马，也私定终生了。由于阿娣的父亲反对，两人不得不私奔到市区生活。刚开始金水的求职路十分不顺，处处碰壁，夫妻俩过着拮据的生活。得到工作后的金水勤奋工作得到了上司Nancy赏识提携。二人更渐生情愫，导致了金水与妻子阿娣感情破裂，阿娣伤心离去。两年后，金水浪子回头，决定找回昔日的爱妻。

玛格特（米歇尔·威廉姆斯MichelleWilliams饰）是一个二十八岁的家庭主妇，和世界上大部分家庭主妇们一样，玛格特和丈夫罗（塞斯·罗根SethRogen饰）过着平静而又稳定的生活，同时，一种精神上的空虚和失落也在慢慢侵蚀玛格特的内心。一次偶然中，玛格特结识了英俊帅气的丹尼尔（卢克·科比LukeKirby饰），一种奇妙而又激烈的感情猛然击中了两人的内心，一段充满了罪恶感却又无法控制的关系就此展开。相爱后的玛格特和丹尼尔不仅常常见面，丹尼尔更是和罗成为了好友，三人的关系里充满了激情和变数。纸终究包不住火，当事实浮出水面后，每一个人都要为自己所做过的事情付出责任。
